This week I popped to Shoreditch to meet the lovely people at Paper Mache Tiger, to drink some peppermint tea and fawn over the Etre Cecile collection - a Paper Thin favourite - and to find out about some amazing labels I can't wait to share with you all.
Etre Cecile didn't fail to impress, but then I am a sucker for a slogan and a great print, so this was always going to work for me. A/W 14 has an array of amazing prints, although the stand out has to be the arrow print below. Neoprene featured heavily - midi skirts, mini skirts, sweatshirts. Clear staples for fall, and the label showcasing 'a fresh balance between our known-and-loved street factor, pepped up with an elegant twist'. But of course the street factor was still there and as tongue in cheek as ever. Slogans such as 'je parle francais' and 'le Bombe' are sure to adorn the chests of many bloggers this autumn, and with the added excitement of teaming up with Executive Editor of Harper’s BAZAAR USA, Laura Brown to produce 'Slogans such as ‘ON Y VA’ and ‘CHARGE!’ printed on the backdrops of Metropolitan France' the casually cool label just got a little bit cooler.
Next was the amazing S/S 14 swimwear collection by Beth Richards, having just finished writing a piece on this I can safely say that I want the whole range! It is uber chic, functional and the introduction of mint green and tomato red to the standard monochrome palette, means the mix and match label is more versatile than ever.
The stand out piece was the 'Grace' swimsuit - I am in L.O.V.E. (see below)
Oh and the lookbook is stunning!
Francis Leon was a new find, although they are on Collection 15 and started in 2010 so I am way behind on this one! I thought the collection was exquisite, their signature panelled leather jackets have an amazing level of detail, and A/W 14 sees 'double-faced suede and grey, as well as navy sportsmesh' added to the staple pieces. They are unreal.
Next season also sees an introduction of denim, and I already have my eye firmly fixed on the pair below - the boyfriend fit, the dipped dye, the leather/denim mix - denim luxury at its best.
Zan Zan is the final label I got to view this week They create their own acetates, so each style is completely unique to the brand, and each pair of sunglasses retails at the same price, so there is no need to compromise on style to fit inside your budget!
The aesthetic of the brand is beautiful, and I can't stress enough the level of quality.
For S/S 14 their 'Avida Dollars' are the perfect pair, with a stained glass feel to them, they have sold out at the moment on Farfetch and for good reason. However having seen what is to come, I am holding out! The new collection see more pastel colour choices, with a pop art feel to them. The styles are modern, inventive and original - what more could a girl want?
