Paper Thin Loves ... May

Sunday, 1 February 2015

As some of you may have guessed I have an affinity towards Australian brands, so I was super happy when I came across May on a miserable Saturday afternoon scouring the internet in East London. This brand is just amazing. Their current collection, Happy Hour, has contemporary silhouettes, a great colour palette and the perfect print for S/S 15. I am sold.

So all you have to do now is cheak out their website (which ships internationally) and look out for a whole lot more of May in future posts.

Paper Thin Loves ... Zanzan

Thursday, 22 January 2015

I was first introduced to Zanzan eyewear during the Paper Mache Tiger press day and I fell in love. The brand is utterly unique, has amazing acetate frames and in their own words have set out ‘to drag sunglasses out of the opticians and onto the catwalk’ - and they have succeeded.

Being worn by the likes of Laura Bailey, Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo, their devotees read like my perfect style icon list. Add to that they have some amazing January offers, means now is the time to stock up on some serious eyewear before the summer begins.

Paper Thin Loves ... Paige Denim

Tuesday, 13 January 2015

Regular readers will know I am a big denim fan, and one of my all time favourite brands has to be Paige Denim. I love the cut, I love the washes, I love the ethos behind the brand and the fact that they are the only brand with a female founder, I love that whole LA denim history but most of all I love that the jeans make me feel amazing. For me that really is the most imprtant thing about investment denim, sure you can go and buy a pair of jeans for £40 from the high street, but they will never last as long, or be made as well, or make your butt look amazing like high end denim does.

So basically Paige Denim rocks - now go invest in a pair!

Paper Thin loves ... Blake LDN

Sunday, 28 September 2014

One of the best parts of LFW is getting to wander around the designer showrooms stumbling upon brands that you love. I feel in love with three brands this season and Blake LDN was one of them. They are a stunning contemporary knitwear brand, and whilst no doubt I will be featuring them on the blog over the coming months, I just had to share with you their Redfern sweater in grey. It is a knitwear hug and the perfect addition to your a/w wardrobe.

Paper Thin loves ... LemLem

Thursday, 17 July 2014

This past week I was lucky to do some work with Beach Cafe and whilst pulling together my swimwear post the other day I came across an amazing new brand stocked on Beach Cafe called LemLem.

The whole range is made of hand woven Ethiopian cloth, and it is stunning.

I really love a brand that has a great ethos and LemLem has that but it also has a fresh, clean aesthetic and gorgeous colour combinations - I just love the Lilly split cover up in orange, as well as everything else featured below!

If you love LemLem as much as I do then check out the range stocked at Beach Cafe

Loving Maria Lau

Monday, 7 July 2014

I am a big fan of finding new designers, and I have been looking for a new accessories designer for a while. So whilst doing some blog research last night using a very slow loading internet (roll on Wednesday when I am back fully connected!) I came across the amazing Maria Lau.

Being a girl who doesn't like to over accessorise, and likes to have some key pieces each season that I can throw on with my day uniform (jeans and a quality t-shirt) to make it look chic and like I have made a serious effort in without putting much effort in at all - this collection is ideal!

I am completely drawn to the hematine pieces as well as the amazing Earth Black necklace which combines lava, pyrite and braided nylon - it is the perfect accessory to a simple black triangle bikini!

Paper Thin Loves ... Simeon Farrar

Monday, 30 June 2014

So I am sat in my new flat, which has been the reason for a short blogging break (7 days to move house is pretty impressive!) and thought I would start the new era by sharing some Paper Thin love!

I love the Young British Designers site as it puts everything in one place and I am the kind of person who likes that. One of my favourite designers featured on the site is Simeon Farrar, I love the colours and the freshness the brand brings - and if I don't own this t-shirt my summer wardrobe will be eternally incomplete hehe. But seriously the t-shirt is epic!

Paper Thin loves... We Are Handsome

Monday, 17 March 2014

I first stumbled upon We Are Handsome when writing some summer blog posts last year, granted I was a little late to the game since they launched in 2009, however better late than never as the saying goes.

I love the brand and not just for the amazing swimwear (which is amazing) but because of their commitment to keeping this a small boutique brand, albeit one that is stocked in 38 countries. I love brands that give that feeling of owning something unique, something made just for me and they do this.

The prints used embody summer, the cuts are perfect and I am all for a little quirkiness, so it ticks every box. Oh and Diane Kruger is a fan!

As well as swimwear, they do a ready to wear selection and a range of accessories. The espadrilles below have made it all the way to the top of my payday purchase list, who doesn't want to look down at sun kissed palm tree as they walk?!

In their own words 'We Are Handsome offers a slice of summer wrapped in luxury' and that pretty much sums them up.

Paper Thin Loves ... JOSEPH

Thursday, 30 January 2014

Simply in their own words 'JOSEPH modernised women' The simplicity of this phrase echos the simple, clean lines of JOSEPH. Modern ready to wear, always luxurious and I always want a few key items each season. The knitwear and tailoring are amazing every season.

However there is another reason why I love this label. In the first clothes shop I ever worked in, we happened to stock JOSEPH, and the first item of clothing I bought with my wage was a pale pink tank with an asymmetrical neckline. It was a favourite then and is a firm favourite now holding a special place in my heart and wardrobe!

Paper Thin Loves ... Antipodium

Thursday, 16 January 2014

For those of you who don't know Antipodium in their own words they are 'igniting curiosity and the urge to look twice, ANTIPODIUM offers the modern woman a new chemistry; distilling East London's wit, whilst maintaining a global outlook'

But why I love the label is because if its simplicity, the fact it doesn't try too hard and it's a little cheeky ... which is kind of how I would want my friends to describe my style! The 'Ted' sweatshirt below is on my current hit list and the 'Hatchet' dress is going to be a summer staple for sure.

Paper Thin Loves ... Blonde + Ginger

Friday, 3 January 2014

So with the New Year comes some new post concepts, first on my list is to showcase a label I love every few weeks, and first up is Blonde + Ginger. For those of you who follow me on twitter you will have seen me tweeting about them and my love of their Dora dress (I will say it again it is amazing, and I have featured it below)

Elizabeth Carrick is behind the brand, and I love her ethos as much as I love the clothing. Each design is a limited addition with no more than 150 pieces being produced of any one garment, the fabric is sourced from independent suppliers and it is designed and made here in Britain. All of this makes the price point pretty impressive with the current range retailing between £148 - £295

Luxury and uniqueness, without completely breaking my piggy bank, Blonde + Ginger ticks all my favourite boxes!

P.s. The styling in the look book is amazing.
