LFW | Saturday

Wednesday, 19 February 2014

Saturday at LFW was all about designers that feature regularly on Paper Thin.

Antipodium and House of Holland provided the quirk for the day, both showcasing amazing shoes, alongside bold, off palette colours.

To counterbalance that was JW Anderson and Joseph, where structure and cut ruled the day. Both produced strong looks, with volume and texture playing a key role.

I have to admit Joseph was the stand out for me, the knitwear and coats were amazing. So much so they almost had me wishing Spring wasn't on its way...almost!

Paper Thin Loves ... JOSEPH

Thursday, 30 January 2014

Simply in their own words 'JOSEPH modernised women' The simplicity of this phrase echos the simple, clean lines of JOSEPH. Modern ready to wear, always luxurious and I always want a few key items each season. The knitwear and tailoring are amazing every season.

However there is another reason why I love this label. In the first clothes shop I ever worked in, we happened to stock JOSEPH, and the first item of clothing I bought with my wage was a pale pink tank with an asymmetrical neckline. It was a favourite then and is a firm favourite now holding a special place in my heart and wardrobe!

Facing facts.

Sunday, 17 November 2013

As I sit here on a pretty gloomy Sunday afternoon, I have decided to face facts and admit that winter is well and truly on its way. With that in mind I thought I would pull together an outfit that combines my perfect winter purchases.

Hats are big in my wardrobe but mainly of the bobble variety kind, however this fedora by ASOS is making me swoon.

As most of you may have figured out I love knitwear and no one has done it better this season than Whistles, I think this is the third appearance on Paper Thin from their range and I doubt it will be the last.

Leather is a staple in my wardrobe, but I think if I owned these Joseph leggings I am not sure I would ever take them off. They would be my go to item every day. I have a similar pair from Topshop but these really are the next level.

Boots, you can't get through the winter months without them, and I really like the edge they give to my more girly outfits. These from Zara are on my Christmas wish list, but may have to be promoted to my just got paid list next week as I am not sure I can wait any longer!

Finally I am not really a girl who wears a large amount of jewellery, normally one great piece is enough for me. This brass ring from People Tree is perfect, I already own a fair trade brass ring which I love and I always get compliments when I wear it, so it looks as if this will be joining my small but perfectly formed jewellery collection.

So there it is my winter wish list in one look, hope you love it as much as I do.

Autumn Fix: Knitwear

Friday, 1 November 2013

Knitwear is probably my favourite thing about Autumn. I love nothing more than throwing on my favourite jeans, snuggling up in cosy knits and a nice cup of peppermint tea.

Midi. Check.

Thursday, 26 September 2013

So as you probably have established I am a fan of the midi. I love the flexibility of the length, it works really well as a day to night piece and the look below is the perfect way to achieve this.

The midi is from Topshop and comes in an electric blue as well as the amazing olive, which wins for me hands down. The colour is just perfect for Autumn and with pink being the colour of the season this really is the perfect complement. Adding to this the splits give it a little edge whilst still making it suitable for everyday wear.

Joseph never fails to disappoint me for knitwear nor does Office for killer heels. However the clutch is the Pièce de résistance (if a little impractical but when is that ever really am issue?!) It is from Klear Klutch and stocked at ASOS, amazing!
