Paper Thin Loves ... JOSEPH

Thursday, 30 January 2014

Simply in their own words 'JOSEPH modernised women' The simplicity of this phrase echos the simple, clean lines of JOSEPH. Modern ready to wear, always luxurious and I always want a few key items each season. The knitwear and tailoring are amazing every season.

However there is another reason why I love this label. In the first clothes shop I ever worked in, we happened to stock JOSEPH, and the first item of clothing I bought with my wage was a pale pink tank with an asymmetrical neckline. It was a favourite then and is a firm favourite now holding a special place in my heart and wardrobe!

Show a girl some blooms!

Monday, 27 January 2014

With Spring comes a whole new world of florals and I am all for this. From large, lush blooms on sensual fabrics to modern graphic prints on structured scuba tees, there is something that can work for every style. Don't be afraid to clash if it works but keep the silhouette simple and let the prints do the talking!

Weekend chores

Saturday, 25 January 2014

Weekends are always extremely busy, having a full time job, as well as being a blogger means I have to cram in outfit posts, weekend chores, catching up with friends and everything in between. I therefore like an outfit that can see me through the day and would look great and not out of place no matter what I am doing.

I love this look, it is a kind of quirky/preppy, and would all day long. The flats are great practical and chic, as is the clear tote. I am all about layers at this time of year, and whilst I wouldn't want to hide the equipment shirt for one second as the print is amazing, having something oversized that I can throw on whilst running errands is ideal. Finally the shorts and shirt work perfectly for drinks with friends.

The perfect outfit to take you through a very busy Saturday!

Monochrome checks

Thursday, 23 January 2014

We all know monochrome is going to be big for spring/summer and this Tibi dress is ticking all the boxes for me, it is perfection. Plus I am a sucker for anything with a dropped waist!

I have kept everything else simple with a little added luxury. Barbara Bui killer pumps, Karen Millen clutch and this amazing Nixon watch (I don't think they make a watch I don't want to own)

I have been living in this Miss Selfridge shirt of late, and it was a sale purchase so all the better. I have styled it with my customised (aka overly worn/battered) Leigh Topshop jeans and my River Island ankle boots that are the comfiest thing ever and are perfect for days out in London.

I also need to add that the varnish is from the gel colour range by Seventeen in Azure Amore and is so perfect for Spring!

Paper Thin Loves ... Antipodium

Thursday, 16 January 2014

For those of you who don't know Antipodium in their own words they are 'igniting curiosity and the urge to look twice, ANTIPODIUM offers the modern woman a new chemistry; distilling East London's wit, whilst maintaining a global outlook'

But why I love the label is because if its simplicity, the fact it doesn't try too hard and it's a little cheeky ... which is kind of how I would want my friends to describe my style! The 'Ted' sweatshirt below is on my current hit list and the 'Hatchet' dress is going to be a summer staple for sure.

Keeping it simple

Sunday, 12 January 2014

There are days when I love a great dress, something you can just throw on and it looks great with minimal effort. I think I have found my solution with this dress from River Island, I love the colour and a simple dress is just what spring called for. Styled with wardrobe staples from Topshop and Office (the shoes are epic).

For accessories I have gone with Whistles and Borders and Frontiers. Regular readers will know I am a fan of jewellery from Whistles and so far their new season is not disappointing me. I am also loving this tote from Borders and Frontiers, they are currently stocked on ASOS however you can do private orders through their Facebook page. I am a tote loving girl and almost always have one with me, this gilded artichoke one is gorgeous and will be going straight onto my payday purchase list. Check them out!

Paper Thin 002

Saturday, 11 January 2014

Following my slogan post earlier this month, I thought I would show you all one of the ways I wear slogan t-shirts as part of my everyday wardrobe. I purchased this one from River Island and love it, I have worn it Topshop Jamie jeans, New Balance trainers and my trusty Zara leather jacket.

This is my day to day uniform, and I also normally have an extremely large scarf wrapped round me and a bobble hat plonked on my head, combating the winter chill.

Spring Fling

Thursday, 9 January 2014

Looking at my twitter feed this week I am not the only one who is done with the sales and is ready to welcome spring/summer wholeheartedly. So as the shops are starting to showcase what they have to offer, I thought I would have a fling with spring and provide you with my perfect capsule wardrobe.

Topshop has done me proud, both the jacket and skirt are on my pay day purchase list, they are both gorgeous. These Common Purpose slip ons are amazing and for those of you who read my blog regularly you will know I am a Nixon watch fan and The Outnet currently has a great selection, I will be purchasing!

Enjoy.

Paper Thin 001

Saturday, 4 January 2014

Following my very public blog resolutions I feel I not only have to complete them for me but for all of you also, so here is my first outfit post of the New Year!

I am top to toe Topshop, with a Whistles ring, which was a Christmas gift and I have not taken it off. The shoes are complete man repellers, my boyfriend hates them, I love them ... I won. Although I do have to admit being a tall girl (5'9") these do put me in the uber tall category (6'2" plus) but who cares they make me so happy, and I have to admit some times I just wear them to potter about the house in, why wouldn't you?

I have styled them with my trusty Jamie jeans, and this amazing denim box shirt I picked up in the sale. It goes with everything!

I hope you enjoy the look and are prepared for many more to come.

Paper Thin Loves ... Blonde + Ginger

Friday, 3 January 2014

So with the New Year comes some new post concepts, first on my list is to showcase a label I love every few weeks, and first up is Blonde + Ginger. For those of you who follow me on twitter you will have seen me tweeting about them and my love of their Dora dress (I will say it again it is amazing, and I have featured it below)

Elizabeth Carrick is behind the brand, and I love her ethos as much as I love the clothing. Each design is a limited addition with no more than 150 pieces being produced of any one garment, the fabric is sourced from independent suppliers and it is designed and made here in Britain. All of this makes the price point pretty impressive with the current range retailing between £148 - £295

Luxury and uniqueness, without completely breaking my piggy bank, Blonde + Ginger ticks all my favourite boxes!

P.s. The styling in the look book is amazing.
